Lately, getting the word of the day on dictionary.com has become a vexing reminder of all the words I don’t know. However, I refuse to delete the emails because I actually want to know what the words mean, just not enough to click on them. Is this around the time one must say, maybe I better unsubscribe? But what kind of a writer would I be if I don’t actually care to continue learning esoteric words that people rather not see in print, words like obtest, when protest pretty much means the same thing?

Conclusion: for now, I’ll get to them when I get to them, and try to commit them to memory but probably forget them within a week.
